Why I am Here
My name is Luca Mele, and I am running for Ward 5 City Councillor because I believe local government should work with the people, not around them.
For years, I have worked to bring residents together through community conversations, outreach, cleanups, and support for families and vulnerable people in need.
Ward 5 deserves a councillor who is accessible, transparent, and willing to work with residents, businesses, community groups, and every level of government to get things done.

A Platform Built With the Community
A strong platform should not come from one person alone. It should come from the people who live, work, raise families, run businesses, and build their lives in the community every day.
Route efficiency, new and improved routes, safety and security updates, reliability, and easier access for seniors, workers, and students.
Monthly meetings, face-to-face access, resident ideas, cleanups, support for small businesses, stronger standards, BIAs, and community awareness.
Expanded shelter, addiction recovery, and outreach services in appropriate locations that balance compassion, safety, and neighbourhood concerns.
Modernized parking, property standards, shared driveway, zoning by-laws, and affordability measures for seniors and working families.
Expanded healthcare services and diagnostic access in Welland so residents do not need to travel outside the city for care.
Regular community meetings, accessibility, transparency, and resident-driven ideas published as part of the full platform.

Election Day Is October 26, 2026
